Payment for all services must be made in full in advance to secure your appointment.

Travel Expenses

Home visits within 15 miles of S70 5EH are included in the consultation fee.

For locations more than 15 miles away, additional mileage will be charged at 50p per mile for the additional distance travelled each way.

For example, if your home is 20 miles away, you would be charged for the additional 5 miles each way — 10 miles in total — resulting in an additional travel charge of £5.

Cancellations

If you can't attend your appointment, please let me know as soon as possible so we can rearrange your consultation or offer the appointment to another family.

Cancellations made more than 24 hours before your appointment will receive a full refund, or the appointment can be rearranged if preferred.

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your appointment, including cancellations on the day, will normally receive a 50% refund. Exceptional circumstances will always be considered on an individual basis.

Covid-19 and infectious illness

If you or any member of your household has any covid-19 or any infectious illness symptoms, please let me know ASAP so we can rearrange your appointment or amend to a video call if desired. I will use alcohol hand gel at the visit, and gloves will be used when doing oral assessments on your infant.

Scope of Service

My private practice is provided in my role as an IBCLC. Although I am also a qualified midwife, my midwifery role is separate from this service, and I do not provide maternity or midwifery advice, diagnosis or care through my private lactation practice.

Lactation consultations do not replace medical assessment or treatment from your GP, midwife, health visitor, paediatrician or emergency services where this is required. If I identify concerns outside the scope of my practice, I will recommend appropriate onward referral.

I am not a tongue-tie practitioner and do not perform frenulotomy. I can, however, carry out an oral and feeding assessment and, where findings suggest a possible tongue-tie or other concern, refer you to an appropriately qualified practitioner for further assessment.
